SERALIQ™ Imaging StandardStandardised Environment for Reproducibility, Alignment, Lighting and Image Quality

SERALIQ™ is evooia's capture standard for reproducible clinical photography. It defines the conditions a before-and-after photo is taken under, across six dimensions: setup, alignment, positioning, homogeneous illumination, imaging integrity and reproducibility. SERALIQ™ defines the standard; AlignedCapture™ guides each follow-up capture against the baseline, so the standard is applied in practice.

The four core variables

Two photos are comparable when these stay the same from the baseline to every follow-up.

Lighting
The same light quality and direction at every session, so the room does not change skin tone or texture.
Distance
The same camera-to-patient distance, because distance changes facial proportions.
Angle
The same head and camera angle, so contours and volumes are seen from the same side.
Framing
The same crop and position in the frame, so the same area is compared.

Six dimensions

What the standard defines for every capture.

Setup:
Device, lens and capture settings stay the same.
Alignment:
Camera height and angle match the baseline.
Positioning:
Standard poses at a consistent distance.
Homogeneous Illumination:
Lighting and exposure stay consistent.
Imaging Integrity:
Originals stay unchanged, with no beautification.
Reproducibility:
Each follow-up repeats the baseline conditions within set tolerances.

Scope

SERALIQ™ standardises the conditions under which a clinical photo is taken, so that photos of the same patient can be compared over time. It applies to guided capture and concerns how a photo is taken; clinicians assess what the photos show.

SERALIQ™ defines the standard. AlignedCapture™ guides its application.

Questions about SERALIQ™

What is SERALIQ™ by evooia?+
SERALIQ™ (Standardised Environment for Reproducibility, Alignment, Lighting and Image Quality) is evooia's capture standard for reproducible clinical photography. It defines six dimensions: setup, alignment, positioning, homogeneous illumination, imaging integrity and reproducibility. SERALIQ™ defines the standard; AlignedCapture™ guides its application.
Is SERALIQ™ a capture standard rather than a device?+
Yes. SERALIQ™ is a standard: a defined set of capture conditions. The evooia app applies it on iPhone and iPad, so no dedicated imaging hardware is needed.
Which capture conditions does SERALIQ™ define?+
Six dimensions: setup (device, lens and capture settings), alignment (camera height and angle against the baseline), positioning (standard poses at a consistent distance), homogeneous illumination (lighting and exposure), imaging integrity (originals unchanged, no beautification) and reproducibility (each follow-up repeats the baseline conditions within set tolerances).
Does SERALIQ™ apply when patients photograph themselves at home?+
Yes. Patients take optional follow-ups at home in the evooia app, with the views the clinic has set and the same guidance as in the clinic, so the same standard applies. Home capture covers the photos only.
How is SERALIQ™ different from AlignedCapture™?+
SERALIQ™ is the standard: the conditions a photo has to be taken under. AlignedCapture™ is the technology that guides each follow-up capture against the baseline so those conditions are met. SERALIQ™ defines the standard. AlignedCapture™ guides its application.
